Beyond ARDSNet: An Advanced Approach for Managing Energy, Effort, and Patient-Ventilator Synchrony in Mechanical Ventilation

Designed for critical care clinicians already fluent in lung-protective strategies, this workshop introduces a next-generation model of ventilator management grounded in energy delivery, diaphragm protection, and synchrony optimization. Going well beyond simply adjusting ventilator settings, participants will explore emerging concepts such as mechanical power, P-SILI, and advanced asynchrony recognition, while integrating trajectory-based tools like HACOR-U and the ROX Index. This course reframes ventilation as a dynamic, longitudinal process in which early decisions fundamentally alter patient outcomes.
